Integrating Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life: Cycle Of Memories

  1. Memory is not only a part of your brain, but in fact a part of each and every cell of your being, of each and every cell of your body. Memories are manifestations of our experiences. It’s a fluctuation.
  2. The cycle of memories – Our action creates Vrittis, when this Vrttis goes deep it creates an impression. In certain circumstances it will trigger and give us the same experience of Vrittis to which is called memories; this reflects in our action when we are awake and in dream when we are sleeping. It will be repeating again and again.
  3. Memories which take you towards your goal of self-realisation are called non-complicated and which take you away from your goal are called complicated. In lust you will be lost in the memory. With lost in the memory your Intelligence will become blurred. These are called complicated memories. And this will create misery. When Intelligence is connected with the universe, life will be beautiful.
  4. Memories can be divided into two types: duration and utility. Duration – sensory, short term and long term. Utility – evolutionary, genetic, cellular, integral and karmic.
  5. Cycle of the memories whether it’s non-complicate or complicated it consumes lot of energy. Because all the memories are the result of attachment and not totally lived in that moment. They are a residue of an unlived moment.
  6. By practising Non-attachment will break the cycle of memories. In the beginning non-attachment means non-fixation, in the end non-attachment will mean desirelessness, no desire. In the beginning no demand, in the end no desire. But if you want to reach this end of no-desire, start from no-demand.
  7. Non-attachment is not concerned with things but with thoughts. Non-attachment is not related to the outside but to the within. Non-attachment is not to do with the world but with oneself. To be in the world is not attachment. The presence of the world in the mind is the attachment, and when the world disappears from the mind – this is non-attachment. Non-attachment, on the other hand, aims to cultivate a mind free from these limiting desires.
  8. The energy which is used in storage or possession of memories will be released and with intelligence and self-awareness it will transcend into gratitude, prayers, sympathy and being sensitive.
