Integrating Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life: Yoga is Alchemy

  1. Brahmacharya is made up of two words: Brahma means Highest reality and Charya means way of living, Behaviour, Acharan.
  2. It is Charya with Brahma, communion with the Universe. it is the realisation of the divine within us. With conscious understanding, conservation of energy and a discriminating mind it is possible to direct one’s sexual energy on the path of Divine.
  3. Purusha and Prakriti want existence to continue in gross form and from the gross form again communion with Purusha. Existence has made arrangement in such a way that routine life can become spiritual life.
  4. Sexual energy has great potentiality in it. With the sex energy reproduction is possible and also it gives us glimpses of no-mind, in the state of no-mind a person who gives birth to himself is a dwij, a twice-born. As it gives experience of both temporary and permanent simultaneously one can be balanced immediately.
  5. Yoga is the path to transfer, to change, the baser metal into the higher metal. The whole art is how to change iron into gold. Yoga is alchemy, the alchemy of your inner being. It is not against sex, but tranformation of sexual energy into divine.
  6. For reproduction sensory instincts are base. Seed of all the sensory instinct is desire. Before moving into orgasm with a discriminated mind, transform desire to desireless, a lot of energy will be freed and during the orgasm we get glimpses of no-mind. With the no-mind experience you will break all the bandages and give birth to yourself. Still you will have a surplus of energy. You will find silence is descending on you. Silence is possible only when you have a surplus of energy within you.
  7. Energy is available to us but in the form of desires. Challenge is instead of moving outside with the desire, move inside. With the same energy you will have glimpses of no-mind. Still you will have a surplus of energy for self-realisation.
  8. Aparigrahah means the ability to see problems caused by preservation, acquisition and destruction of things. Since they provoke attachments and injury. Being possessed by possessions. It creates miseries. Let go of the grip nor the object. The object is for the utility of living.
  9. Our objects of comfort are not for possession. Don’t be in the impression that by possessing the object you will have a comfortable life. No, on the contrary it will be the cause of your misery. Live life of need base and not desire base. It doesn’t mean that you have to renounce your comforts. It simply means you have let go of your grip on the objects.
