Learning

The quality of bending easily without breaking is called as flexibility or adaptability.

The same is true with plastic. Hence, Plastic teaches us to be flexible enough so that changing or transforming ourselves becomes easy when needed.

Flexibility can be subdivided into two different arenas in our life:

1. Physical Flexibility

2. Mental Flexibility

Lets have detailed elaboration on both the avenues:

1. Physical Flexibility: Flexibility is needed to perform everyday activities with relative ease. Without adequate flexibility, daily activities become more difficult to perform. Staying active and stretching regularly help prevent this loss of mobility, which ensures independence as we age. Being flexible significantly reduces the chance of experiencing occasional and chronic ache.

2. Mental Flexibility: There are so many factors in life that are not in our control, like weather, politics, people’s reaction, seasons, day and night, death, etc. What’s in our control is our response and actions, and this is the key to become mentally flexible. “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” (Unknown). These guidelines focus on bringing a conscious shift from where a true flexible behavior originates.

1. Accepting Change: Know that change is constant and part of this world. Things may happen suddenly, gradually, or slowly, but things change.

2. Making Effective Changes: Work on the things that are under your direct influence. You have no control over weather, political situations, wars, conflicts, people’s reactions and many other upsets in life. Even your conditioned mental reactions are not in your control.

3. Change the Paradigms: Be aware. Awareness is the prime factor in order to dissolve negative beliefs or paradigms that have been running your life. When you are aware, a new dimension of consciousness emerges through you. Much more powerful than thinking.
