What you write with a pencil is more important than what the Pencil is?
What we use the pencil determines how we benefit from it. Ever wondered this erasable pencil which is a mark of uncertainty because it can be erased is the main implement for the thinking process. All Ideas, tasks, possibilities, are written in pencil. They are drafted, redrafted, erased, ideated and underlined till the final decision is taken. We can stress the importance by changing the shade of the stroke. Writing with a pencil improves your ability to deal with uncertainty.
In particular, it’s thought security was friend and uncertainty enemy. But, that there is wisdom in uncertainty – it opens a door to the unknown, and only from the unknown can life be renewed constantly.
In detachment lies the wisdom of the uncertainty…in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.
When you are attached you nurture fear, doubt and need by concentrating too much on possible outcomes. You approach your desires and intentions from a position of worry, based on a fear of uncertainty. All that is certain in our life is uncertainty.
The Law of Detachment does not interfere with the Law of Intention. In planting the seeds for tomorrow you simply leave room for change; you leave room for twists & turns you will encounter along your journey. Knowing what we want is different than dictating how it is received. We can chart our path but along the way the wind will blow, and our course will change; learn to let go and flow in that current.
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.” Herman Hesse
Knowing that uncertainty is a part of the plan is necessary; relinquishing your need to orchestrate the details frees you from the fear of uncertainty, the fear of not knowing.
The search for security is an illusion. In ancient wisdom traditions, the solution to this whole dilemma lies in the wisdom of insecurity, or the wisdom of uncertainty. This means that the search for security and certainty is actually an attachment to the known. And what’s the known? The known is our past. The known is nothing other than the prison of past conditioning. There is no evolution in that-absolutely none at all. And when there is no evolution, there is stagnation, entropy, disorder, and decay.
Uncertainty, on the other hand, is the fertile ground of pure creativity and freedom. Uncertainty means stepping into the unknown in every moment of our existence. The unknown is the field of all possibilities, ever fresh, ever new, always opens to the creation of new manifestations. Without any uncertainty and the unknown, life is just the stale repetition of outworn memories.
You become the victim of the past, and your tormentor today is yourself leftover from yesterday.
Release the need to know all the details. In the acceptance of uncertainty know that anything is possible if you step out of the way and let your life unfold.
