Learning

Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.

Always remember that children are watching you, they will watch your act, your talk, your way to respond to the circumstances, etc. Even they way watch what is out come of all your act, what is cause of your suffering and what are the possibilities that you have missed it. From this observation they start creating their life, shaping their life.

Often we find the word ‘watcher’ associated with life. The literal meaning of ‘watcher’ is inspection or analyzing. If we look at a Watcher his primary job is to look after everything. If any lack is seen anywhere, the watcher comes to know of it first. Being watcher is a condition of the Spirit. It relates to a spirit, who is awake all the time. It does not mean that a person literally does not sleep. Such a spirit is a watcher about all things concerning our Lord and His work. Such a spirit is sensitive to even a small mistake or negligence that might take place. There is no set time of watcher. It’s a 24 hour duty. A watcher has his eyes and ears very much open and alert to the movements of his and others. To be a watcher one must be alert to each and every sign or even a slight change. He has to be attentive to learn and gain knowledge from every thing that comes his way. He must keep his mind focused, his eyes opened, his ears responding with every tick of the clock. He will have to keep all his senses focused on thing surrounding him.

Once we know the knack of watching others, turn towards yourself, watch yourself.

Becoming the watcher of our thoughts does not have to mean spiritual bypass; instead, we can see it as an opportunity to become more at peace with ourselves. It may not happen straight away.

However, being aware of our thoughts and emotions is powerful stuff. If we can get to a place of peace within ourselves—where we’re ready to explore all the pain that is hidden within from a place of observance and acceptance—things can start to shift for us. However deep our pain, whatever the source and symptoms of our fears and anxieties, we can start to observe how we feel from a place of openness.

This is not necessarily easy, and having the willingness to face ourselves and our demons does take courage. We may need the help of a therapist in order to work through some difficult stuff, and there is nothing wrong with that. Whatever route we choose comes down to us. There may be something in our lives that is too painful to face right now—which isn’t going to be healed by disidentifying from the mind.

Some things take deep inner work.

We can use even our suffering and resistance to help us get to a place of more inner peace—because sometimes, it’s easier to surrender and let go when you are up against it. Start from where you’re at right now. If possible, to become “the awareness” of your thoughts and emotions, without judging them.

You may find that underneath the surface, the real you is waiting to be unleashed.
