Ultimate Destiny – In Gita Verse 13.29 One who sees the Supersoul equally present everywhere, in every living being, does not degrade himself by his mind. Thus he approaches the transcendental destination.
Krishna, in his tranquil yet potent voice within the Bhagavad Gita, guides us towards liberation from the psychological mires that shackle us to mere shadows of reality. He calls upon us to break free from the impositions set forth by gurus, ancestry, companions, and societal constructs – each an obscuration veiling the resplendent self that glows within us.
The meditation imparted by Buddha acts as a precise sword that cleaves through these veils of illusion, revealing a pathway to our ultimate recognition in the flash of a profound awakening.
Consider the teachings of Rinzai, who, with provocation and insight, prompts us to ‘cut down’ not just the figure of the Buddha but all attachments and identities that impede our stride towards enlightenment. This directive urges spiritual insurgency, not physical strife – a call to cast aside attachments, whether to spiritual figures, genetic ties, or the mirage of ego.
By loosening the grip of external allurements, we find ourselves liberated, cradled in the arms of serene autonomy.
Rinzai, the insightful mountain monk, has proclaimed that there lies no true dharma within external rites or religious artefacts. And yet, such utterances can be misconstrued, leading seekers astray. For true understanding is not the mere interiorisation of doctrine but the transcendence of both the external and internal towards a direct, unmediated encounter with reality.
We find no solace in the desolate echo chambers of archaic scriptures or in the silent prayers offered within the confines of stone and statuary; these are but the distorted echoes of the pristine dharma which can be only felt and known by a heart in direct communion with existence itself.
To discover oneself, one must delve deeply into the source from which life springs eternal, akin to the rose arising from secrecy, caressed by sunlight, cradled by the rain. This pilgrimage seeks no mantras nor scriptural command; it is an inward odyssey, an impassioned quest to uncover the essence of one’s authentic existence.
Embark upon this voyage to trace your lineage to the cosmos, and the revelation shall be transformative: your life force pulsates in concert with the cosmos itself. Your being, entwined with the ethereal rhythm of the heavens, is not a mere solitary existence but an integral branch of the vast cosmic canopy.
In this recognition, the dread of mortality fades away. For in discovering your cosmic roots, you realise your inherent bond to eternity. Death then reveals itself not as a cessation but as a continual metamorphosis within the infinite cycle that binds the tapestry of being.
In such awakening, desires diminish – leaves that flutter away on the autumnal breeze. For why should one yearn when the totality of the universe resonates within? What is there to seek when the self becomes indivisible from the boundless, immortal cosmos?
To accept this truth is to harmonise with the cosmos’s symphony, an ever-present element in the grandiose unfurling of the universe.
Awareness of this communion obliterates the trepidation of death, as death itself is but a shift in the ceaseless cascade of being. Desires wane as you realise that the entire cosmos vibrates within you – what more could you seek?
Krishna, through the timeless wisdom of the Gita, assures us that we hold all we could possibly envision or covet. By welcoming this wisdom, we are encircled by a peace that invites bliss, ecstasy, and ceaseless revelry in life’s sacred dance – the sublime ritual of creation.
