Uncovering Buddha’s 7th Fold

  1. Introspection v/s Self-Remembering: Self-remembering is not thinking at all: it is becoming aware about yourself. The difference is subtle, but very great.
    • The Western psychology insists on introspection, and Eastern psychology insists on self-remembering.
    • Self-remembering means you must have a double-arrow – one side of it showing to the surrounding, another side showing to you. A double-arrow is self-remembrance.
    • Self-remembering means that whatsoever is happening in the moment is happening with complete consciousness; you are present there.
  2. Everything Is Unexpected: Why is our preparation going in vain?
    • Preparation to accept this nature of life, to accept this changing existence is required and not for the goal.
    • Our expectations are nothing but our own projections.
    • Respond with Awareness
    • A man of awareness becomes courageous enough to accept the changing phenomena.
    • Change Your Mind Not Actions
    • Fear of Change
    • Life is Change and Transformation
  3. Codependency: People that are codependent in their relationship put their own happiness aside to respond to the other person’s wishes.
    • Some characteristics of codependency are: weak and unestablished boundaries, unhealthy communication, people-pleasing attitudes, controlling and manipulation, self-esteem issues, and other-blame.
    • Love in this purest form is unaddressed, as there are no objects and subjects. You became the love itself. It extends the limits of being a verb, it becomes an identity. You don’t love, you are Love. If your love is meditative, unconditional and limitless, you can reach this state.
  4. Fear: Fear is not the problem, love is. Fear is just an absence of love.
    • Transcending fear brings Self-Awareness and Trust
    • Don’t follow your fear instinct, because that is going to make you a coward.
    • Fear is in-built, and it is very essential. Without fear you will not be able to survive at all. Fear is normal. It is because of fear that you will not put your hand in the fire. It is because of fear that you will walk to the right or to the left, whatsoever is the law of the country. It is because of fear that you will avoid poison. It is because of fear that when the truck driver sounds his horn, you run out of the way.
  5. Past and Future into Present Moment: Seed of the present is in the past and the seed of the future is in the present.
    • Human Beings can create their future by self-alertness and consciousness of the present moment act.
    • Mind is like a pendulum. Mind can survive only in the past and future.
    • When we act with mindfulness and self-alertness our seeds of the past will become infertile and new seeds of inherent properties of the present act will be sown.  If it is in alignment with the Universal Will we will move towards self-realisation.
  6. Buddha’s 7th Fold Right Acceptance: Accepting it you preserve your energy. Accepting it you become capable of understanding it, because only one who accepts can understand; one who rejects cannot understand.
    • Without understanding there is no liberation, no transformation.
    • Accept the whole of life as it is. In your acceptance you will be preserving your energy, and you have inexhaustible sources of energy if you accept.
    • When you accept everything, your life becomes cheerful. Nobody can make you miserable, nothing can make you miserable.
