Self-Discipline

  1. Inner Understanding: Inner understanding is the light that illuminates our path, the very essence of our existence.
    • It is through self-awareness that we recognize our fears as mere shadows, fleeting and insubstantial.
    • Just as Krishna reminds Arjuna of his revered stature, we too must remember that our true significance lies within.
    • Inner understanding requires us to pause, reflect, and look beyond the apparent chaos of life’s battlefield.
    • This self-realisation is akin to finding the North Star in a dark sky, providing us with unerring guidance.
  2. Meditation: Meditation is the bridge between the known and the unknown, a practice that stills the mind and opens the heart.
    • In the profound silence of meditation, we acquaint ourselves with the depths of our being, shedding light on our inner conflicts.
    • As we sit in meditation, like Arjuna on the battlefield, we observe the stirrings of our thoughts and emotions but remain centred amidst them.
    • Meditation brings us into the present moment, the only time where life truly unfolds and where transformation takes root.
  3. Self-Discipline: Self-discipline is the art of aligning one’s actions with one’s highest values, the tangible expression of inner understanding and meditation.
    • It is not a rigid structure imposed upon us but an arising commitment from a state of clear awareness.
    • True self-discipline is an act of love towards the self, a daily dedication to one’s growth and well-being.
    • Through self-discipline, we harness our energies, directing them towards our dharma, our righteous path, as demonstrated by Arjuna.
