There is no other time than now. All other times are just mind-fabrications, fantasies.
Eternity is now. When Osho says there is no other time than now, it is a simple existential truth. The past is a memory, a recollection, a series of images and stories you tell yourself. The future is a projection, a dream, a castle in the air. All that truly exists, in vivid reality, is this moment.
Your mind, a beautiful servant but a dangerous master, constantly weaves these fabrications and fantasies. It distracts you from the essence of life. You might be physically here, but mentally in a different time altogether – regretting the past or anxiously anticipating the future. This dissonance creates suffering.
To live in the now is to drop this baggage of mind-fabrications. It is to experience the richness of life as it unfolds, to be fully present in every action you take, every word you speak, every breath you inhale and exhale. There is a meditative quality to this presence; it brings awareness and joy.
Understand this: plans for the future are important, but they are to be created and held lightly, not to overshadow the present. Memories are to be cherished, but not to become chains that bind you to what no longer exists.
If you truly want to make better decisions and reach your objectives, start by centering yourself in the now. Only from this place of presence can you act most effectively. Because it is in the now that life happens – not in the yesterdays, not in the tomorrows, but in the pure, boundless present.
