Love wants everybody whom it loves to be happy. If there is a communion of spirit, there will be no secretiveness.

The essence of love, as Osho understands it, is to wish for the ultimate joy and fulfilment of the other, without any desire for ownership or control. Love, in its purest form, is not a transaction, but a gift. When Osho says, “Love wants everybody whom it loves to be happy,” He is speaking of this unconditioned, selfless desire for the well-being of another, without expecting anything in return.

This beautiful feeling is not limited to personal relationships but extends to all beings. When there is love, there is a sense of shared being; love recognises the other as oneself in a different form. When two beings share this pure communion, there is transparency in every interaction because the sense of separation diminishes.

When there is a communion of spirit, a meeting of souls, transparency flourishes. There are no hidden thoughts, no cloaked intentions, and no secretiveness. This is the realm of true intimacy, where understanding is not just intellectual but transcendental.

If you love, truly love, you will not enjoy playing the detective. If you love somebody, you love him so totally that even if he is unfaithful, it does not matter. You loved him, that’s all. What he is doing is not going to condition your love. Your love will remain unconditional; it will not depend on any of his acts, behaviours.

But remember, love is not an imposition; it doesn’t seek to mould or change the loved one. It is a space for growth, an environment of understanding and care, which allows the other to flourish in their authentic self. It is not a binding but a freeing force.

Love and freedom go together, they cannot be separated. Just as the flame and its light cannot be separated. If they are separated, both disappear. They are part of one phenomenon: the flame gives light, love gives freedom.
