This quote underscores the concept of proactive destiny. Indeed, there is a destiny inherent in every individual, much like a seed is destined to become a flower. The seed possesses an intrinsic potential, which can only be actualised into a certainty if it receives the appropriate soil and environmental conditions. Similarly, while all human beings possess an inherent potential for a certain kind of flourishing, the specific nature of this flourishing remains uncertain and is influenced by various factors and the surrounding environment.

Human beings have the potential to become vastly different entities, from enlightened beings like Buddha to historical figures like Genghis Khan, or even roles such as politicians, priests, entrepreneurs, or businessmen. The outcome depends on a myriad of factors, including the environment and the individual’s choices. Unlike animals, whose consciousness is not evolved enough to make choices, humans have the unique ability to shape their destiny through conscious decisions.

It is crucial to focus on the present moment rather than dwelling on the past or dreaming about the future. The true path to fulfilment is not found in external aspirations but within one’s own heart. Violence, for instance, is not an inherent trait of humanity; it is a conditioned response shaped by past experiences and evolutionary history. While violence is unavoidable in the life of a beast and thus excusable, it is a choice for humans and therefore not pardonable. This highlights the importance of conscious choice in shaping one’s destiny.
