Immediate Is Ultimate – In Gita Verse 11.26-27 All the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, along with their allied kings, and Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Karṇa – and our chief soldiers also – are rushing into Your fearful mouths. And some I see trapped with heads smashed between Your teeth.

Arjuna from his objective world is thinking that there are two parties. Kaurava and Pandava. They are separate and opposite to each other. They are enemies. But when he saw through his divine eyes Krishna’s opulence form he was more surprised that all of them who he thinks are enemies are trapped in Krishna’s mouth. Means they are neither enemies nor friends. They are part of Krishna.

Imagine a family brother and sister are separate but they all are part of their parents and their DNA is also similar. Same way Krishna is showing Arjuna that your mind thinks that you are enemies and separate. But in reality, all of you are part of me. In that he gives him a message that doesn’t have your individual goal or thinking. But surrender to the whole or me and let their goal function through your body.

The mystic approach is totally different from the goal-oriented mind: Live the moment in its totality, love the moment in its totality, drown yourself in this overwhelming existence, and you will come closer and closer to God.

By “God” mystic doesn’t mean some person; by “God” mystic simply means the essential core of existence, the center of the cyclone. The universe is the circumference and God is the center.

If you dive deep in the now, in the here, you are bound to encounter the center. And the miracle is that the center of all is also your center too.

To become aware of it, to live that center, from that center, into full awareness, is to be a buddha, is to be enlightened.

But remember, buddhahood is not an ultimate goal. It is not something which has to be achieved somewhere else. It is available right now – immediately it is available, not ultimately.

Remember these two words: the ultimate and the immediate. The ultimate brings the mind in, the immediate helps the mind to disappear.

To mystic, the immediate is the ultimate. There is no goal, physical, psychological, spiritual. All is as it should be… it already is.

Drop your tensions, anxieties for the future, what is going to happen. All has already happened! Live it! Don’t be ambitious. Goals make you ambitious, and they drive you crazy.

How can you know the ultimate? The very ground of being? There is only one possibility of coming in contact with the ultimate – directly, immediately, without any mediators – and that is, inside yourself. Close all the doors and windows and move within.

It happened… One of the wisest women ever born was Rabiya al-Adabiya. She was a Sufi, a great mystic, incomparable. She was sitting inside her hut with closed eyes doing something – nobody knows what.

Another mystic of the name of Hassan was staying with her, and it was morning, and the sun started coming up, and it was tremendously beautiful. The birds singing and the trees happy again to see the light, and the whole world celebrating the morning. Hassan stood there, then he called Rabiya saying, “Rabiya, come out! See the glory of God! What a beautiful morning.”

Rabiya said, “Hassan, rather on the contrary, you come in and see God himself. Out there I know beauty, the beauty of creation, but it is nothing compared to the beauty of the creator. So rather, you come in!”

The more goal-oriented a person is, the crazier he becomes – because ambition is nothing but ego. You can go on inventing new goals; there will always be the horizon beyond.

And with those new goals your ego can go on and on having new trips.

The mystic and the world of the mystic is a totally different dimension.

What mystic talking about here has nothing to do with goal orientation – that is the way of the mind. Mystic is teaching you the way of no-mind.

Krishna by revealing that I am holding everyone who is present in the battlefield. He showed Arjuna the reality. That even though you feel and think that I am from your side that is also an illusion. Go inside you and you will find there are no others and what you feel as war, it is not war at all. It’s only that seed is disappearing and becoming a tree.
