Unknown Space – In Gita Verse 13.6-7 The five great elements, false ego, intelligence, the unmanifested, the ten senses and the mind, the five sense objects, desire, hatred, happiness, distress, the aggregate, the life symptoms, and convictions – all these are considered, in summary, to be the field of activities and its interactions.

The Inner Dance: Embracing the Vast Unknown with the Bhagavad Gita

In the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, we are introduced to the concept of the ‘field of activities,’ a term that encapsulates the observable universe and the unmanifested potential of existence. Acknowledging this ‘unknown space,’ as referred to in the scriptural text from verses 13.6-7, we learn to accept the immense depth that lies beyond our immediate perception, reminding us that reality is far grander than what we see.

As we embark on an exploratory journey steered by the Gita’s wisdom, Lord Krishna imparts a crucial understanding of how we may use the resources available to us, such as the five elements, our senses, and our convictions. If we channel these resources outwardly, toward the external world, we may find ourselves encumbered with dissatisfaction and sorrow. Should we direct these resources inwards, we are guided along a path paved with satisfaction, contentment, and joy. It becomes clear that it is the orientation of our energy that moulds our experience of life.

The verses 13.6-7 of the Bhagavad Gita open a panoramic view of existence, inviting us to harmonise with the energies that animate us. We are summoned to grasp the essence of life, where the energy itself is constant, but its direction – whether inward or outward – defines the quality of our human experience.

Unknown Space: Accept the Unseen

An open heart, eager for the undiscovered, ushers in the dance with the enigmatic ‘Unknown Space.’ A realm untamed and mysterious, it calls for our wholehearted acceptance and an adventurous spirit.

  • Embracing Curiosity: May each day be a canvas of exploration, where we not only interact with the tangible world but also plunge into the profound depths of our being.
  • Harnessing Convictions: When we consciously direct our convictions inward, they become powerful tools for introspection and growth, rather than ties that bind us to superficial existence.

Surrender to Mystery: Let Go of Control

Life’s mystery presents a complex tapestry that eludes full comprehension. Surrendering to this enigma opens us to empowerment, acknowledging that certain realms will forever linger beyond our command.

  • Finding Peace in Release: Our daily existence becomes a serene act of surrender as we embrace the unknown gracefully, liberating ourselves from the chains of expectation.
  • Journey Beyond Desire: Accepting life’s immeasurable nature fosters an environment ripe for serendipity and unexpected joy.

Embrace Inner Exploration: Discover Within

Echoing Krishna’s enlightenment in our consciousness, we turn our journey inward. It is within this domain of self that we unearth an intricate world ripe for discovery.

  • Mindful Self-Engagement: Each life event, no matter how trivial, is an avenue for self-discovery, as we engage with life’s offerings with mindfulness and presence.
  • Transcendence Through Reflection: Taking time for reflection allows us to rise above the mundane, to unveil our true essence, unchained from the physical realm.

In incorporating these lessons – recognising the ‘Unknown Space,’ ‘Surrendering to Mystery,’ and ‘Embracing Inner Exploration’ – we are reminded to remain receptive to the entirety of existence. These teachings instruct us to tread this earth humbly, persistently seeking knowledge and finding equilibrium between doing and being still. Life’s intricate dance is limitless, and the Gita’s wisdom beckons us to engage in this dance with eyes wide open, brimming with bravery and joy.

Krishna’s insights urge us to consider: when our energies are outward-directed, we may invite unhappiness, but when directed inward, they assume the form of boundless happiness and joy. Living this truth is where fulfilment blooms. As our energies turn inward, we don’t distance ourselves from the world; instead, we dive into the very core of existence. In this space, closely woven with our innermost selves, rest the peace and ecstasy we long for. Here, in the sacred dance of introspection and realisation, we discover an unattached joy, an unconditional bliss, an essential happiness – perpetual and true.
