Natural Is Divine – In Gita Verse 13.20 Material nature and the living entities should be understood to be beginningless. Their transformations and the modes of matter are products of material nature.

When Krishna presents Material Nature as beginningless, he illuminates the profound reality that all of existence springs forth from the Divine or Existence itself. Therefore, we should embrace rather than reject any part of creation, as doing otherwise indirectly amounts to a rejection of the Creator. Every aspect of creation pulsates with the vibrant essence of existence, endowed with limitless potential. It knows neither beginning nor end. Every entity has a specific role; Material Nature affords us the chance to ascend in consciousness. Growing in consciousness signifies a return to our intrinsic, untainted, and divine form.

Reaffirming the notion of the natural as divine, we resonate with the insights provided by Bhagavad Gita Verse 13.20. Each form that comes into being is a celebration of the dynamic interaction between Prakriti (nature) and Purusha (the individual soul or self). This verse casts light on the endlessness of these foundational energies and their relentless dance, which is the foundation for the cosmic cycle of inception, maintenance, and cessation.

The intricate web of life assigns a function to every element, a raison d’être to every minutia. From celestial bodies to humble flora, from moments of ecstasy to profound grief, all components are threads in the same divine fabric. As we navigate life with its rich complexity and marvels, we are part of an overarching divine scheme. Each existence we encounter, every joy and every trial, holds a legitimate place in the cosmos. And all, in their being and inevitable return to the source, are crucial verses in the divine symphony of creation.

Remembering this essential truth becomes imperative as we delve into the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Regardless of whether they bring pleasure or pain, all elements in nature’s domain are imbued with sanctity. Recognising the divine in all things cultivates a profound reverence for the delicate equipoise and splendour inherent in life. In the verdant garden of existence, every blossom and every bramble finds its niche, and each – through its presence and eventual transcendence – is a sacred expression of divinity.

If the possibility to expand your consciousness were absent, how would personal growth occur?

Reflecting on my earlier discussion on Bhagavad Gita Verse 5.26, I highlighted the idea that by planning and controlling every element of your life independently, you do not afford the Divine the space to make an entrance, to lift the weight from your shoulders, and to offer direction.

Seek out a life attuned to nature. For the Natural Is Divine.

The ego’s voice often catalyses distress, pushing us into turmoil. We must be astute in recognising that the ego consistently directs us towards anguish – unreservedly and without exception. Conversely, heeding nature’s counsel leads to well-being, tranquillity, silence, and bliss. Evaluate your decisions by their outcomes.

Act with conscientiousness. Witness the consequences. Discomfort is a beacon that the ego is at play; use this comprehension for future discernment. When guided by nature, your actions will synchronise with all facets of life, yielding aesthetic pleasure and serenity.

The complexity of life defies reduction into simple rules, thus personal judgement becomes necessary through persistent experimentation. Be attentive to the internal dialogue influencing your choices and note its destination. Over time, with acute awareness and examination, you will be able to distinguish between the summons of the ego and nature, the authentic from the pretence. It is not external forces but your ego that heralds sorrow. The ego leads to desolation, while the genuine self, emerging from within your essence, signifies the journey to bliss.

As you precisely observe the repercussions of your activities, you will gradually identify what derives from nature and what is shaped by the ego. With this awareness, the allure of the ego will wane naturally, simplifying your decision to tread the path of the natural.

In essence, aligning with the natural synchronises you with the cadence of nature. Nature is the conduit to the Divine, as the Divine is intricately interwoven within it.

Begin by being natural. As you navigate the stream of nature, there will come a time when you merge into the vast expanse of the supernatural.

Krishna’s message is clear: avoid the dismissal or opposition of Material Nature, and instead, become aware of its true essence. By comprehending and honouring it, we are empowered to transform and transcend it, facilitating our seamless integration into the realm of existence.
