Integrating Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life: Self-trust and Discerning Intelligence
- Patanjali says Focusing on the object of power, slowly, slowly one can gain strength, characteristic and behaviour of the object. You become what you believe in it. If you focus on the elephant slowly, slowly you gain the strength of the elephant.
- Modern days different ways this principle has applied in education and in psychology. By trusting one’s thoughts one can influence others for their performance positively and negatively. The basic thing is trust. Trust has nothing to do with others. It is something to do with you. Out of self-trust, trust arises. Trust is the most subtle nourishment for life. If you don’t trust you cannot really live. With a deep trust inside, the whole view changes.
- Begin to trust others under your influence with self-trust and discerning intelligence so that others can grow from your words, actions, and thoughts. Similarly, with self-trust and discriminating intelligence, be under the influence of someone for your growth, trust them and make sure that by their words, behaviours and thinking you can grow, for your life purpose.
- Focusing on the inner light Yogi can see very remote and fine objects. Because to connect with inner light means to connect with the soul, which is the presence of Supreme Consciousness in you, the life in yourself.
- When intelligence reaches its climax it is called intuition. Till the time we become mature by our life experiences we are instinct in our nature and actions, with the experience we replace our instinct to intelligence in our thoughts and action. By focusing on the inner light of heart will transcend intelligence to intuition, which is the climax of individual intelligence in our actions. Individual intelligence now merged into cosmic intelligence. With this duality ends and one is no more knowledgeable but becomes knowing.
- Knowing means everything in the universe is manifestation from Supreme Consciousness and knowledge means Individual manifestation. That’s why knowledge is from ego, mastery and knowing has no-knowledge but Universal Knowing, which is mystery. Life is a mystery, not a riddle. It has to be lived, not solved. Mastery is on the outer achievement.
- As an individual we are Micro of Supreme Consciousness which is Macro. Individuals are the replicas of Supreme Consciousness with one difference: Supreme Consciousness knows it’s play and individuals don’t know it’s play they get involved into it. As soon as individuals realise it’s play they start reversing the process and again merge into the original source, Supreme Consciousness.
