    Rock

We have forgotten what rocks and plants still know – we have forgotten how to be – to be still – to be ourselves – to be where life is here and now.

When you lose yourself in doing, you lose mindfulness and always want to arrive at the next moment. You’re never fully in the doing. Your attention is always on the next thing, or where you want to get to through the doing. Every doing becomes a means to an end. It’s a very subtle thing, but you can observe it in yourself . . .It’s always the next moment that matters more. Every doing becomes a means to an end. You can bring in small stops (pauses) in the doing . . Don’t stop having a busy life, but bring presence into the business. . .

To introduce spiritual practices into the doing, e.g. make it an end in itself. . .Be present in the doing, rather than treating it as a means to an end. . . Choose certain activities that are repetitive, and, as a conscious choice, make it a habit to treat them as mindfulness.
These simple (but not easy) mindfulness practices allow to experience joy, peace and serenity in life, instead of misery, fear and discontent.
