Walking can be a meditation if you walk alertly. Sitting can be a meditation if you sit alertly.

Meditation is not limited to sitting cross-legged on a cushion and closing our eyes. It is a practice that can be incorporated into our daily lives in a variety of ways, including through the simple acts of walking and sitting.

When we walk, we can practice mindfulness by paying attention to the sensations in our body and our surroundings. We can focus on the feeling of the ground beneath our feet, the sensation of the wind on our skin, and the sights and sounds around us. By doing so, we can cultivate a deep sense of connection with our environment and be fully present in the moment.

Similarly, when we sit, we can practice mindfulness by simply being fully present with our thoughts and feelings, without getting caught up in them or becoming judgmental. We can focus on our breath and the physical sensations in our body, allowing ourselves to fully experience the present moment.

Both walking and sitting can be powerful tools for mindfulness and meditation if we approach them with a sense of alertness and awareness. They offer us the opportunity to cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Let us take some time to practice mindfulness in our daily lives, through the simple acts of walking and sitting, and see the positive impact it can have on our wellbeing.
