Remember, anything that makes you afraid, fearful, is a clear indication of what you have to do. You have to do just the opposite.

When Osho speaks of fear and the approach to tackle it, he is inviting you to a dance with your own shadows. You see, fear is not just an enemy; it is also a guide. It shows us the boundaries of our current existence, the limits of our comfort zone. When you become aware of your fears, you are actually glimpsing the edges of your potential.

To practise this wisdom in your routine life, start small. Observe the moments when hesitation arises, when there is a slight recoil in your mind or heart. It could be as simple as the reluctance to speak your truth, the avoidance of a certain task, or the resistance towards embarking on a new habit that you know would benefit you.

Once you have identified these moments, lean into them gently. If you fear public speaking, for instance, seek out small opportunities to express yourself. This could be sharing an idea in a meeting or starting a conversation with a stranger. The action against the fear need not be massive – it is the consistent, mindful confrontation with it that brings transformation.

As you actively decide to do just the opposite of what fear dictates, you rewire your neural pathways. You become more accustomed to stepping into the space of discomfort, and it is in this space that growth occurs. You begin to live in a state of expanded consciousness where fear loses its grip over your choices.

Remember, he is not suggesting that you be reckless or ignore the wisdom of caution. Not all fears are irrational. Some are there to keep you safe. The key is discernment – the ability to distinguish between irrational fears that limit your existence and rational fears that protect your physical being.

By practising this philosophy, you transform fear into a catalyser for your spiritual and personal growth. You start living a life more authentic to your being, and in the authenticity of your being, there is a natural harmony, a synchronicity with existence. There, fears become stepping stones rather than obstacles, and life becomes a play, a leela, where every moment is an opportunity to celebrate your existence.
