Be more and more in a state of no-mind. Just go on removing memories, imagination, to clean and clear the present moment.
The state of no-mind is what happens when we transcend the ordinary workings of the conscious mind – our thoughts, memories, and imaginations. These are the things that keep us tethered to our past and constantly worrying about our future. But the beauty and aliveness of life can only be experienced in the present moment, which is always pure, fresh, and new.
When Osho says “be more and more in a state of no-mind,” he is inviting you to enter a space of pure consciousness. It is not about having no thoughts – it is about not clinging to them. Thoughts may come and go like clouds in the sky, but your awareness remains clear and unaffected, like the vast sky itself.
Removing memories and imagination is not about forgetting or stopping thought. It’s about cleansing the lens of perception. When you dwell on memories, you are living in the past. When you are caught in imagination, you are living in a future that does not yet exist. These are distractions from the living reality of this moment.
To clean and clear the present moment means to witness it without judgement, without expectation, without the interference of the mind’s noise. It is to experience life as it is, unfiltered. This brings a sense of freedom, peace, and deep inner silence, where true wisdom can be found.
To practise this, you might meditate, you might watch the breath, you might simply sit in nature and allow yourself to be fully there. The method is not important; what matters is your state of consciousness, the quality of your awareness. Be here now, fully, and you will understand the beauty of no-mind.
