Your Existence is the Truth. When you are in Silence you are in Truth. It is not there, it is here!
When Osho speaks of existence and truth, understand that they are not entities separate from yourself. They are the core of your being. Your existence – your life, your breath, your consciousness – is the ultimate truth, for it is undeniable, immediate, and always present. You are here, now, in this moment, and that is a fundamental truth.
Silence, in this context, is not merely the absence of noise. It is a state of pure awareness, a stillness within, where the chatter of the mind ceases and the distractions of the outer world fade away. It is in this silence that the veils of illusion, the stories, and the dramas we create about our lives, fall away. What remains is the essence of truth – your existence, untouched and uncolored by the narratives of the mind.
When Osho says “It is not there, it is here,” he is pointing you away from the eternal human chase for truth in concepts, in distant times or places, in philosophies or religions. Truth is not to be found in the future, or the past, or at any pilgrimage site. It is right here, in this very moment, within you. To experience truth, you don’t need to move an inch; you just need to become silent and aware, to delve into your own existence.
To connect with this truth, practice mindfulness and meditation. Observe the constant flow of thoughts without getting attached to them. As you become more adept at finding silence, you will find your truth, and with it, a profound peace and understanding of the nature of reality itself. Always remember, truth is not an idea to be understood; it is an experience to be lived.
