Let whatever is happening inside you happen, and begin to meditate on the whole situation. By and by, the more awareness deepens, the less possibility there is of your behaviour being determined for you. You become free.

Allow the internal processes within you to unfold naturally, and start meditating on the entire situation. Gradually, as your awareness deepens, the likelihood of your behaviour being externally determined diminishes. You achieve freedom.

To elaborate on this, your responses can be influenced by your body chemistry. For instance, when you consume alcohol, your behaviour changes due to the alterations in your body chemistry. Historically, one of the ultimate techniques in tantra involved consuming intoxicants while maintaining consciousness. According to tantra, if an individual could remain conscious under conditions that typically lead to unconsciousness, only then could they be considered enlightened.

This raises an important question: if body chemistry can alter your consciousness, what does consciousness truly mean? If your body chemistry is regulated, you would be incapable of experiencing anger because the chemical conditions that trigger anger would be absent. Similarly, if your sex hormones were eliminated, you would not experience sexual desire. However, the core issue is not whether you experience anger or sexual desire. The fundamental question is how to remain aware in situations that typically induce unawareness, and how to stay conscious in circumstances that usually lead to unconsciousness.

When you encounter such situations, take the opportunity to meditate on them. If you feel jealousy, meditate on it. This is an opportune moment. Your body chemistry is active within you, potentially leading to unconscious behaviour. In such moments, strive to remain conscious. Do not suppress your feelings of jealousy; instead, observe them.

If you experience anger, observe it; if you experience sexual desire, observe it. Allow whatever is happening within you to happen, and meditate on the entire situation. Over time, as your awareness deepens, the likelihood of your behaviour being externally determined decreases. You become free.

Moksha, or freedom, signifies a state of consciousness so liberated that it is no longer subject to external determinants.
