Maturity comes through understanding the distinction between that which is possible and that which is not possible.
Maturity is the flowering of your understanding, it marks the evolution of consciousness. To distinguish between that which is possible and that which is not possible is to recognise the limits of one’s own control and the natural flow of existence.
Consider water flowing down a mountain – it takes the path of least resistance, shaping its course around rocks and through crevices. The water does not struggle against the boulders, nor does it lament the twists and turns it must take; it simply flows. In the same way, a mature person understands that certain things in life cannot be changed or forced. They learn to flow with the river of life rather than against it.
Understanding the realm of possibility implies embracing the present moment fully, while harnessing your energy for what you can indeed influence. It means to act with full awareness and intensity when the situation allows for it, and to accept gracefully when something is beyond your reach. This creates a harmony between your efforts and the unfolding of life.
When your energy is not wasted in trying to do the impossible, you become more effective and peaceful. Your actions become like a dance – a form of celebratory expression rather than a struggle for survival or success.
Thus, this maturity is not a mere intellectual understanding but a deep-rooted wisdom that permeates your being. It is the profound acceptance of the nature of existence and your own nature, which leads you to the very heart of joy and peace.
The mature individual rejoices in what is possible, and smiles at the face of impossibility, knowing well both are perfect in their own ways – two sides of the same existence. This understanding is not the end but a doorway to an infinite journey of growth and discovery.
So, move with this understanding, and you will find that even the impossible starts to seem like a friend, a challenge, a provocation to grow and to go beyond your known boundaries. But remember, to try this with a sense of playfulness, not seriousness, because it is seriousness that creates the impossible. With laughter and love, even the hardest rocks can be worn down to pebbles in the stream of life.
Go forth with an open heart, and let this wisdom transform your very being.
