Learning
Wood is combination of its hardness, strength, toughness.
Same discipline if for others, means if we are tough and hard with others, we create breakdowns and if we use for ourselves we create breakthrough. How the same discipline and different result.
When we become hard and tough with others we want them follow us without any freedom. In that process other person suffocate with us even if that is for their growth but without any freedom they will be suffocating and we will have breakdown in relationship.
Now same discipline if we use for our search of unknowable within it will create breakthrough, because out of our freedom we are following the discipline hardness and tough with ourselves.
The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not “the thinker.” The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter – beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace – arise from beyond the mind. You begin to awaken. In that awakening self-discipline will arise.
Is There a Relationship Between Freedom and Discipline?
Yes. The relationship between these two seemingly opposing forces is one that is strong and interdependent.
Often in the quest for freedom people will shun discipline. They believe that being disciplined somehow restricts their freedom. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Having discipline of your mind and time brings freedom to you in so many different ways. It takes discipline to achieve the life you want to lead. It is discipline that gives you the “freedom” to take care of yourself and your family on a level that you desire and of which you can be proud. It allows you to live the life you want to live. Discipline frees you from much frustration.
Out of our freedom if we are following the discipline will truly helped us to get through the some of the hardest times in our life and it also enriches our life everyday. Discipline will free us from fear that threatened to overwhelm us and hold us hostage to a life we wouldn’t want or believe. We know we can make a plan, we can adjust our plan and we can be disciplined to fulfill our life in a meaningful way.
Discipline can set us free to achieve the life we want to live. We are free from holding on to what is safe or easy, but is not what we want; because we know we can have what we want. We have kept to our vision and we live our life everyday in a way to honor the things that we believe. This is the true definition for freedom, when our life is a reflection of what we believe. If our life is a mockery of our own believes and you are secretly ashamed of our choices, then there can be no freedom. We are imprisoned by our own lack of discipline.
