Homoeopathy – An Introduction

Every aspect of human life is undergoing drastic conceptual changes like in science, ecology, arts, economy, technology, politics and even in medicine.

Fragmented diagnosis of human beings is replaced by the concept of man as a whole. Nowadays patients cannot be viewed in fragments without violating fundamental and universal law of nature. Each person is a unique individual, functioning as a totality in relation to the surrounding universe.

The human body is a dynamic structure which never stops creating and destroying itself at the same time. This gives an insight into the incredible complexity of the human organisms and smoothly coordinated operation of its processes. For us, all homeopaths, the definition of health is,” The state of being healthy, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually but not merely an absence of any disease.”

HOMOEOPATHY

It is a reliable medicinal system through which the patient is treated as an individual comprising their mental, emotional and physical dimensions, all of which must form a well balanced whole organism.

According to a renowned homoeopathic physician, Karl Robinson of Houston, homoeopathy is like comparing apples and eggs. It is very much an observational science in which five patients with the same official diagnosis could receive five different treatments based on their complex mental, emotional and physical qualities. It is a different paradigm, that’s all.

HOMOEOPATHY AS AN ART AND SCIENCE

As Science: Science is a body of laws, body of truths and an area of study. A law is a connecting link between two series of phenomena which demonstrate their interrelation with other known laws. Hence, in homoeopathy there exists the system of remedies related to the phenomenon of diseases by the law of mutual actions under the fixed law principles of similarity, contrariety, proportionality and infinitesimality.

All levels of living organisms-organelles, cells, tissues, organs, organ system, whole organisms are characterised by their own specific wavelength whose phases are perfectly orchestrated in a multi level coherence and oneness. When this multi level coherence is broken, disease emerges. So, homoeopathic treatment helps to restore this multi level wavelength coherent by adapting QED (Quantum ElectroDynamic).

Homoeopathy is based on two principles; a substance that causes specific symptoms in a healthy person can relieve the same symptoms in a sick person if consumed at a very low dose (single dose). This is defined as SIMILIA SIMILIBUS CURANTUR: Likes are cured by likes, e.g., red onions make our eyes watery that is why it is used in homoeopathic remedies for allergies. The homoeopaths weaken these ingredients by adding water or alcohol and shake the mixture to increase the medicinal properties of the substances. This process is called POTENTIZATION. The lower the dose the more powerful the medicine, thus repeatedly diluting the substance actually makes treatment more potent even if no detachable molecules of the original substance remain. This is the second principle.

So, it has been experimentally proven that homoeopathy medicines cure the symptoms of disease in the sick, but they also have the power of producing these symptoms in healthy people.

Also like chemistry/physics, homoeopathy was established under the principles of the inductive method in science. It rests fundamentally upon some principles which are Similia, Simplex, Minimum dose, Drug proving, chronic diseases, potentisation and vital force. The formulation of each of these principles is based on pure observation of facts and scientific methods.

As an Art:  The appreciation of homoeopathic scientific principles constitutes as an art. So this system of practice of remedies is called the art of healing. A cure is a product of an art. The homoeopathic mode of case taking, evaluation of symptoms, it’s mode of individualisation, the choice of remedy and administration of remedy, all are included as an art. So, treating a patient homoeopathically is an art.

So, Homoeopathy is both an art and a science. To be successful in this system of medicine a homeopathic physician should be an artist and a scientist.
