Observer v/s Watcher

Education teaches us to observe.  Self growth happened through watchfulness.

Observation can be taught, watchfulness cannot be taught but you have to learn.

In observation you are absent. Watchfulness you are included.

In observation you are unconscious towards the self. So you are prone to attachments, desires, lust etc. In watchfulness you are conscious towards self so you can transcend attachments, desires, lust etc and will  be non attached, desireless, loving etc

Learning to watch your thought processes will help you to create the space. Watching creates distance from your mind. The watcher becomes slowly slowly distant from the watched; the observer and the observed start moving farther and farther away from each other. Soon the watcher is on the hilltop and the watched is in the dark valley far below, and the distinction is so clear, then there is no problem at all.

One needs to learn first to be an observer. Be a master in observation. Observation is one of the greatest forces of transformation. Start observing yourself. Don’t waste your energy with observation of others – that is sheer wastage. By observing yourself you will become a watcher.
