Habitat: Stationary water bodies like ponds, lakes and artificial pools.

Average Diameter: Leaves – 0.6 m; flowers – 0.2 m

Medicinal uses of Lotus:
The flower seeds leaves and part of the underground stem (rhizome) are used to make medicine.
Lotus flower is used to stop bleeding.
Lotus seeds are used for disorders of digestion treats diarrhea.
Lotus seeds can be eaten raw or cooked.
The dried lotus seeds can be popped like popcorn and eaten.
