Integrating Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life: Faith, Energy, Memory, Concentration, and Discrimination Of The Real.

  1. Many of us cannot complete our journey of 8 steps of Sampragyat Samadhi, they will attempt Samadhi through 5 Steps towards Self – Faith, Energy, Memory, Concentration, and Discrimination Of The Real.
  2. Faith: An active, vital quest for truth springs out of doubt, not out of belief. Faith is not the beginning of the search for truth; faith is the outcome. How can any faith founded on belief be real? Only perfect knowledge gives birth to real faith. Perfect knowledge and real faith go together. Belief is ignorance; true faith is perfect knowledge. Belief is a faith that is borrowed; belief is a faith that has been thrust upon you, thrown over you, superimposed.
  3. Energy: The power of thinking will only begin to stir in you when you free yourself from the ideologies of others. You only learn to think by thinking for yourself. Then a new power will awaken in your inner being; then, a new and unfamiliar energy will manifest itself in you. It will be as if a blind man is suddenly able to see, as if a house that has been in darkness is suddenly brilliant with light.
  4. Memory: Purified memory is self-remembrance. But we are looking at life through the memory, which is viewing the present through the veil of the past. Only when the mind is freed from this slavery does it attain the capacity of real perception, is self-remembrance. And real perception leads to real knowledge. If your vision is pure, the latent power of self-knowledge awakens within you. Your vision is freed from the past as soon as you liberate yourself from the burden of the memory and realised self.
  5. Concentration: Concentration is staying at one point. It is not thinking; it is not contemplation. It is really being at one point, not allowing the mind to move at all. In ordinary thinking, the mind moves as a madman. In contemplation the madman is led, directed; he cannot escape anywhere. In concentration the mind is not allowed to move.
  6. Discrimination Of The Real: The state of being awakened, of discrimination and of intelligence, exists beyond thought, but the man who is preoccupied with thought is not aware of this at all. Thoughts smother the underlying reality as smoke envelops a fire, and so the individual remains ignorant of the real nature of existence. To realise the truth you need open-eyed discrimination; for the other, blind belief will do quite nicely. It is for this reason that the scriptures are obstacles that stand in the way of realising truth.
  7. Those yogi whose urge for Samadhi with intense focus and intense practise will reach early to Nir-beej samadhi.
