Integrating Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life: Pure Consciousness

  1. Who has known oneself as pure consciousness and have understood the manifestation of consciousness, Universe is called Brahma. He imbibes the quality of pure consciousness and becomes omnipresent. Like the drop of ocean has all the quality of the ocean.
  2. When Pure consciousness is manifested in form it is called Brahma and when it is Unmanifested it is called Pure Consciousness. When Pure Consciousness takes birth or it descends we call them Avatar.
  3. Everything in existence is in the form of consciousness manifested or unmanifested. Manifestation happens in the form of gross – body, subtle body – ego, feelings thoughts, fine subtle – desires.
  4. When we take birth as human beings we have brought fertile beings within us, which can grow our consciousness from this gross consciousness till fine subtle consciousness into pure consciousness. When we grow into pure consciousness, we imbibe the quality of pure consciousness and become omnipresent. We become Pure Consciousness or Brahma.
  5. Connection of manifestation of different forms of consciousness with Pure Consciousness is AUM. The sound of AUM is the most significant sound, the most fundamental, the most elemental; it is the source of all sounds. It consists of three sounds, A, U, M, and those three sounds are the basic sounds behind all sounds.
  6. It is very symbolic in the east; it is the trinity. A, U, M: those three sounds are the three energies in life. Christians call them father, son and holy ghost. The whole life consists of three energies: scientists call them electrons, protons, neutrons. Whenever you go deep you will always find a trinity and behind the trinity you will find one; that one is the sound of AUM.
  7. One can try any word, any letter, any sound, but from the outside it will always be heard as aum. So it is the sound that joins the outer and the inner. It is the sound that joins the body and the soul.
  8. The first use that has been made is that those three sounds represent respectively: the state of wakefulness, a; the state of dreaming, u; and the state of dreamless sleep, m. When all these three sounds, the whole aum, becomes silent, then arises the fourth sound, the soundless sound called turiya, the fourth.
  9. AUM meditation has four steps and nine methods of japa. AUM can destroy me, mine and not-mine. Japa means repeat, reflect and realisation of the truth. We can do verbal japa, mental japa, whisper japa, bhramar japa and ajapa japa. This sound will be of great help to you to find your path, to move towards the unknown. Ride on this sound.
